Helen Mirren tackles the ageing issue
Despite her 69 years, Dame Helen Mirren is renowned for giving her younger contemporaries a few lessons in style and grace - making the actess a fitting choice for L'Oréal Paris’s latest campaign, which investigates the issues that come with ageing. Mirren's first television ad for the brand’s Age Perfect Cream has just been released, exploring the idea of women feeling invisible as they get older.
In the commercial, Mirren is shown unenthused when offered a seat at the bus stop by a young woman. After rejuvenating with L’Oréal’s Age Perfect cream, Mirren realises age is but a number, dons a leather jacket and heads out on the town.
The new ad first aired on February 6 and is being hosted on YouTube. It was written by Kate Pozzi, art directed by Andy Tannock, and directed by Olivier Venturini through Great Guns.
Mirren is the second 69-year-old woman the brand has chosen to star in its ad campaigns - Jane Fonda was the same age when she appeared in L’Oréal’s Age Re-Perfect cream ad in 2007.
