NW and OK! editors to depart Bauer Media

Two more magazine editors are set to depart Bauer Media this month, with NW Magazine editor, Mark Brandon and OK! Magazine editor, Lucy Walker leaving their respective publications.

The editors’ departures come four months after Bauer Media made 11 jobs across NW, OK! And Woman’s Day redundant in order to migrate towards a more ‘centralised’ editorial model.

Their exits also follow the recent departure of Harper's BAZAAR’s editor-in-chief, Kellie Hush and ELLE’s editor-in-chief, Justine Cullen, as well as a number of other significant changes.

Brandon has been editor of NW for more than four years, and Walker took on her role at OK! last year after working at Bauer titles for several years. Bauer Media revealed both editors are leaving to “take on new challenges,” but it's not yet clear where they’re heading next.

“Four consecutive periods of readership growth does not come easy, and it’s truly a credit to the team who put their hearts and souls into the product every week,” Brandon said. “After more than 200 issues, however, the time is right for me to try something new. I look forward to seeing how the team continue to evolve the brand into the future.”

Walker also added that the brand held a “special place” in her heart.
“It’s been a joy to create content that our audience loves and engages with every week – and to do it with such a talented and spirited team has been a real pleasure,” she said.

Bauer women’s celebrity entertainment category editor-in-chief, Fiona Connolly thanked both editors for their immense contributions.

“They have helped to lead and shape both titles, continuing to deliver current and engaging content to their readers. I will take this opportunity to get closer to both magazines and oversee their editorship until appointments have been made,” Connolly said.
