Eleanor Pendleton announces Gritty Pretty closure

Eleanor Pendleton has announced significant news regarding Gritty Pretty – after an incredible 10-year journey, Gritty Pretty will cease publishing as of May 10th, 2024.

"Whilst this decision has been extremely difficult to make, reaching this decade milestone has also provided a moment of reflection for all of Gritty Pretty’s achievements and contributions made to the beauty media landscape," Pendleton shared with BD.

Pendleton, the founder and publisher of the title, reflected back on the past decade.

"We've had the privilege of publishing 40 issues of our digital magazine, accumulating over 35 million page views, and garnering 300,000+ podcast downloads," she said.

"Additionally, we've been honoured to host thousands of individuals at our beauty workshops and community events across Australia."

Pendleton also shared her gratitude for the Gritty Pretty team.

"It has been a privilege to work alongside two of the industry's best – Gritty Pretty editor, Danielle Gay and beauty editor, Rose Garnett," she said.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their dedication, commitment and exceptional work we have been able to create together."

While Gritty Pretty is coming to a close, Pendleton's boutique content agency, Gritty Productions will continue to operate as the business evolves into its next chapter.

"You can continue to rely on Gritty Productions to deliver the same level of excellence and commitment that you've come to expect from Gritty Pretty; seamlessly managing content ideation, creative direction, production, post-production and execution," said Pendleton.

"On a personal level, I’m delighted to have more of a hands-on role when it comes to ideation, creative direction and brand consulting."

A public announcement to the Gritty Pretty reader community will be made on May 6th, 2024 and www.grittypretty.com.au will remain live perpetually.
