In an effort to make IGTV more appealing to users, Instagram is doubling down on its strategy for the longer-form content side of the app.
Users are now seeing that Instagram has started rolling out a new layout for IGTV and increased search functionality.
IGTV’s main page now looks similar to Snapchat’s Discover page, putting more of a focus on finding content that users are interested in, instead of just watching whatever pops up on the screen. This is in the hopes that it will give brands extra visibility, being spotted by interested users, and in turn improve engagement stats.
This news is coming on the heels of Instagram allowing profiles to share previews of their IGTV videos onto Instagram directly, which can then transport interested users to the secondary app to watch more.
