This time of year inspires all sorts of ambitious resolutions from daily morning runs to cutting out those $5 flat whites but sadly, follow through often falls short. BD editor Erin shares her more attainable resolutions of the beauty kind.
Beauty sleep
“I always aim to be in bed by 10pm and I’m great at that. It’s just when I’m in bed 10pm easily turns into 12am as I fall into the dark Netflix cycle. This year, I’m going to get in bed by 9pm and hit the hay by 10pm! The mental benefits of sleep are infinite but externally they’re just as important from increased collagen production (AKA the anti-ageing powerhouse) and a luminous complexion to a healthier mane and metabolism. Beauty sleep is for real.”

Clean make-up brushes regularly
“I was great at this towards the end of 2017 so my goal is to keep it up. Even when I’m feeling lazy I just jump in the shower with my brushes and give them a good cleanse. When I have the time, I use Manicare Brush Cleaner & Tool Sanitiser with the and gently work it into the bristles. Alternatively, a baby shampoo does the trick too!”

Drink more water
“I don’t really like water and tend to only drink it when I’m absolutely parched after exercise, which is not nearly enough considering we need 1.5 to 2 litres a day. H2o is a beauty cure-all from clearing congested, blemish-prone skin to repairing nails. I find the only way I drink enough water is to have a drink bottle constantly with me. As well as this, I’m going to up my water intake from teas too – there’s so many bursting with beautifying benefits.”

“I’m lucky to have a whole host of supplements but regrettably I hardly took them last year. I find it difficult to assess what I actually need vs. what is surplus, then juggling what times to take them all at.
