The brand diving deep into marine-based beauty

The ocean is known to provide a plethora of skin benefits, from antioxidant-packed algae to cleansing sea salt, marine-based beauty has been gaining quite the amount of attention in the beauty space. One brand bringing this to the forefront of our attention is Syrene Skincare – a light, moisture-boosting range providing a moment of calm for the busy modern woman.

With the brand name combining the words ‘serene’ and ‘siren’ (as in mermaids) it’s not hard to see how this game-changing, locally made skincare collection is designed with self-care in mind. From the beautiful minimalist packaging, to the soothing formulas packed full of natural extracts from the sea, Syrene encourages its users to be mindful and look after their skin.

The New Zealand born brand is inspired by the book ‘Gift from the Sea’ by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, reflective of the marine active ingredients which embody the purity of the Pacific Ocean.

With an anti-ageing and hydrating focus, the formulas melt into skin and get to work combating pollution, locking in moisture and clearing clogged pores. While the product range, comprising of delicate cleanser, refreshing toner, hydrating creams and indulgent masques, is gentle, the powerful and nutrient-rich ingredients still pack a punch.

Ephemer™ is essential to Syrene’s product range and boasts antioxidant properties. An active extract taken from algae, it helps reduce the effects of free radicals which cause skin ageing.

Maricol S™ with marine collagen harbours antioxidant properties to prevent and repair environmental damage associated with the ageing process. It is a natural soluble collagen derived from fish skin, identical to the skin’s structure.

L22® is responsible for helping maintain the skin’s barrier function, radiance and moisture balance. In fact, it is tailored to match the components of human skin-surface lipids found on the skin of a 22-year-old.
