Paul Mitchell says no to China over animal testing

Hair care brand has teamed up with Cruelty Free International and is pledging to not sell products in China until the country changes its laws in regards to animal testing.

Paul Mitchell stopped selling products in China last year after being told it would have to abide by the country’s legal requirement for cosmetics to be tested by animals.

Since Paul Mitchell was founded in 1980, we have been cruelty-free,” says Paul Mitchell chief executive and co-founder John Paul DeJoria. We do not conduct or condone animal testing on our products; we are working with the Chinese government until alternatives to animal testing methods have been accepted.”

The brand’s cruelty-free message will be seen on exclusive products and special packaging promoting Cruelty Free International featured in hair salons across the UK and Europe.

I am delighted to support Cruelty Free International. Together we make a difference,” says DeJoria.
