Magazine publisher goes into liquidation

Copeland Publishing has gone into liquidation.

The publisher of free parenting mags country-wide went into liquidation on May 15, with no plans announced as to the future of the titles or staff.

First published in 1989 by founders Joanna Love and Gillian Hund with a circulation of 20,000, Sydney’s Child was a free parenting mag available to those in the wider-Sydney region. The concept was expanded into Melbourne in 1993 with Brisbane, Newcastle, Perth and Adelaide following later.

Copeland’s magazines were claiming a circulation of 248,000 copies in May’s AANA audited survey with the publications distributed mainly though pharmacies, cafes, libraries, shopping centres and daycare facilities.

Copeland publishing also held titles Kids in Brisbane, Sunny Days Magazine, Kids In Perth, Kids in Sydney and Sydney’s Baby.
