By utilising their unique perspectives on art and design, Ashley & Co re-defines traditional household objects and ideas, giving them a contemporary twist. From the packaging to the ingredients, the products produced are both for ones enjoyment and importantly necessary to the completeness of ones home. 

We caught up with Founder and Owner Jackie Ashley to talk scents, formulations and NZ made.

What are Ashley & Co’s most popular products and what’s so good about them?

Our Home Perfumes and Wash Ups are our founding products created 11 years ago. I think what makes them good, is there trusted formuation and the scents that have not faultered. Because we are here everyday in ones home, familiarity with our scent is what makes the moments memorable. A customer will fall in love with a scent and is then able to shop that scent throughout our entire range of products.

What key ingredients are used across the range and what are their benefits?

We are a scent company first and foremost, so one of the key ingredients is fragrance.

In our body care range all our products are 99 – 100% natural. Key ingredients include, Grapefruit Seed and Aloe in our Wash Up Original range, and organic  Borage Oil and Olive Extract in our Gone Green range.

Ashley & Co is all about its scents – how do you ensure fragrances are distinctive yet subtle enough?

Sampling  is of course a huge part of our product development to ensure that our fragrance levels in each individual product are just right! Our scents are fragrant enough to pique ones senses – creating everyday moments that you can own.

How much thought is put behind creating the product’s packaging?

Packaging is all designed by us and in house.  When a customer opens an Ashley & Co box, we want it to become part of the the overall brand experience. Little hidden details, such as the zip lock  die cut, that in some way enhance their day.  The product packaging itself  is minimal and fuctional – a timeless aesthetic that can fit into multiple environements & anyones style.

What are the benefits of keeping the production process entirely in New Zealand?

End quality of the product is most important to us, and for it to be consistant. Our individual batches are not large and we are producung constantly.  Keeping all the manfacturing in Auckland allows us to be hands on throughout the multiple processes that go into creating just one product.

What are the brand’s key goals for the future?
