bdNZ welcomes A’kin and Evolu

The two brands joining bdNZ this week, and , are dedicated to natural skincare with no nasties. Something we’re always searching for is a healthier complexion, but we often forget that keeping it simple is the best way to go – forget the countless overloaded beauty regimes you’ve tried over the years. In keeping with this philosophy, Evolu has a botanical skincare system that is fuss-free yet effective, which harnesses the power of plants. Similarly, A’kin’s products give off an immediate sense of tranquillity, freshness and vibrancy – this is because the brand’s core philosophy is to make pure, natural, aromatic skincare with no bad ingredients in sight.

Evolu

Evolu knows there are a multitude of environment and modern day stresses that can wreak havoc on the skin. When the brand’s founder, Kati Kasza, realised her skin was being affected by stress, she looked for her own solution. As a result, Evolu’s product range is custom-designed to nourish and restore balance to the skin and its natural functions. Growing up in a family who taught her about the importance of plants, she took this in her stride and harnessed the power of New Zealand’s unique natural environment. Like the indigenous Maori population, Kati realised the potential of native plants such as Harakeke, Mamaku and Kawakawa, which aid healing, soothe inflammation and restore moisture.

And what does all of this careful consideration result in? A product range that packs a punch – ensuring skin is balanced and healthy – with potent yet simple formulations. They know that having a long list of ingredients doesn’t necessarily make for a better product, instead their secret to effective skincare lies in the right mix of pure plant oils and extracts that complement each other. When it comes to skincare, it’s worth utilizing nature’s playground.

A’kin

Home-grown in Australia, in 1987 co-founder botanical chemist Will Evans knew that there was a gap in the market for beauty products that were not only natural, but high quality and effective. What started out as natural hair care brand Al’chemy in 1994, soon became A’kin in 2002; all the way continuing with the same mix of innovative technologies and natural, authentic ethos.

Nowadays, A’kin is stealing the spotlight with their potent yet nourishing skincare. There’s no surprise that their products are crafted carefully through the elimination of parabens, sulfates, silicones, mineral oil, artificial colours or fragrances, and more. The endless amount of good stuff packed into their products, such as organic coconut water, green tea, vitamin E, rosehip and chamomile, provide the ultimate treat for skin. An added attraction is their dedication to keeping things as sustainable as possible with recyclable packaging, because we all know that reducing our carbon footprint is incredibly important.
