MECCA to open store in Tauranga

Get excited beauty junkies – MECCA is opening a store in Tauranga, the first to open outside the three main centres in New Zealand.

For the first time, sought-after beauty brands will now be available in the Bay of Plenty with Mecca Maxima’s arrival at Tauranga’s Bayfair Centre on Thursday 6 December.

The 290 square metre space will provide customers with access to over 40 leading makeup, skincare and fragrance brands as well as Mecca Maxima’s renowned beauty service.

Previously, MECCA store openings in New Zealand have attracted 500-strong crowds of beauty junkies looking to buy MECCA exclusives from brands such as Urban Decay and Too Faced.

Carly Emery, New Zealand country manager for MECCA is expecting another big opening.

“Whilst MECCA’s brands are available nationwide online, we have been looking for the right opportunity to bring our blockbuster beauty experience that is Mecca Maxima to the Bay of Plenty region.

We’re very excited to be opening our eleventh New Zealand store and customers can expect some fantastic opening day celebrations!”

On launch day, customers who spend over $70 NZD can open a locker to reveal a beauty prize including full size products and MECCA gift cards. MECCA will also surprise one lucky customer every hour by covering the cost of their basket at checkout.

The Mecca Maxima Bayfair store will have six makeup stations available for expert makeup applications, as well as personalised beauty lessons.

The store will also have a dedicated beauty tools area, a makeup section with brands such as NARS, Hourglass, Stila and MECCA MAX, and a dedicated skincare area featuring Drunk Elephant, Tatcha, Mario Badescu and more.

MECCA's latest New Zealand store is part of Bayfair Centre’s large-scale development set to be completed in late 2019.

The new Mecca Maxima Bayfair will open at 9am on Thursday 6 December at Bayfair Shopping Centre, Maunganui Road, Tauranga.
