Top 2017 skincare trends according to Google

We’re three months into 2017 and Google has already noticed underlying trends in beauty searches, particularly in the skincare realm.

According to a study conducted by Think With Google (a trend research team within Google), people are concerned more so than ever before with what ingredients go into creating their favourite beauty products. Findings showed that skincare trends emerging towards the end of 2016 are still very prevalent.

The study found top searches included vegan beauty items, detoxifying ingredients and other categories that prove a sense of mindfulness when it comes to what people are actually putting on their skin.

Data was collated from key beauty countries France, America and Japan, with the top trend among the three countries being face masks. From mud and clay masks to sheet masks, and a large majority being naturally derived, it’s no surprise they are set to be 2017’s biggest skincare trend.
