Harrods to open standalone beauty stores

According to Harper’s BAZAAR UK, popular London department store, Harrods, will soon be upgrading the way people shop for beauty even more.

The retailer will be opening a new standalone beauty store called H Beauty, which is set to open in April 2020 in Essex’s Lakeside shopping mall. The opening of a second store will closely follow in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, at a date yet to be announced.

It is believed the stores will sell luxe cosmetics, skincare and fragrances from brands such as Chanel, Dior and Huda Beauty, in addition to providing beauty services in the form of blow dries and facials, as well as unique “coffee to cocktail bars.”

This news comes following the June launch of Harrods’ 90,000sq ft beauty emporium at its flagship store in Knightsbridge, in addition to a 9000sq ft skincare emporium earlier this month.

“It will be a mini-version of Harrods, but a bit more accessible,” Harrods’ director of beauty, accessories, fine jewellery and watches, Annalise Fard, told Drapers Online, adding that the new chain will be in keeping with Harrods’ Knightsbridge flagship store. “It is a massive opportunity to take our authority in beauty to a national audience in a more approachable way.”
