Sephora, Kiehl’s, Revlon invest in beauty vending machines

In an attempt to reach consumers spending less time in store, and maintain engagement, the likes of Sephora, Revlon, Kiehl’s and St. Ives have invested in beauty vending machines.

Produced by Vengo, the machines are wall mounted with an interactive touchscreen display, cashless payment and the capacity to stock six product skus. The machines are said to be ideal for smaller sized products as they can hold between 120 and 180 products depending on their size.

Vengo’s CEO, Brian Chimmerlik, told Cosmetics Business: “As people spend less time in stores these days, its important to reach customers right at the point of sale – even for unplanned purchases.

“We reach a young, digitally-savvy Millennial audience that is often the least responsive to traditional marketing.”

He added: “We believe the most successful brands are those that are there when you need them and via Vengo, we give brands that access to reach customers where they work, live, travel, shop and work out.”

While the machines are currently only available in the US, the trend is likely to see its way to our shores too.
