The bd team try out a range of products that were essential for surviving MBFWA.
For me personally, the Lady Jayne Bobby Pins are great for creating loose and messy updo’s (think J-Law’s awards updos when she had long hair). With bobby pins used as exposed hardwear” at the Duvenage show, I’ve been using the Lady Jayne ones to emulate my Fashion Week moment. On top of the bobby pins, I’ve also been using the Lady Jayne Brush to slick my strands back into a tidy pony - with the use of the aztec print Hair Elastics. The aztec bands are wider than the usual hair tie and their colourful aztec print adds a pop to what could be a boring updo. - Liz
Dry Shampoo is my all-time hair hero. Like my very own Superman, this product comes to my rescue every time I’m in need and is a classic that will never be forgotten about. What’s great about Cedel’s Dry Shampoo is that it’s available in a dark formula so no-one will ever know your hair’s not shower-fresh (even though it looks it!). - Liz

I don’t have a big moustache, but a little baby one sometimes manages to creep above my upper lip (and let’s be honest, no one wants a moustache.. especially during Fashion Week!) I used the Waxaway Precision Wax Wand to get rid of it. The unique precision tip applicator applied just the right amount of wax where I needed and provided comfort and control when removing unwanted facial hair. I loved how easy it was to use, and would definitely recommend it. - Maddie
The MOR Barcelona Train Case is not only stunning, but the perfect size for travelling. The case features an embossed geometric print and has been designed with waterproof fabric, which essentially means that if you spill in it (which can happen whilst travelling), you can wash it out without having to worry about ruining it. The case features a handle for easy transport and is really quite large, allowing for full-sized products to fit in. My next holiday side-kick, I am sure of it! - Maddie
The Party Feet Gel Cushions are perfect for those shoes that are just a little bit new, but you REALLY want to wear them. This situation arose perfectly over the weekend, in which I attended my little sister’s 21st birthday party. Heels were inevitable - and new heels were a product of my shopping addiction. The invisible gel cushion fit discreetly into the base of my heel and cushioned the balls of my feet, ensuring that I could dance comfortably and preventing blisters. The slim design has been created with a clear gel that leaves the cushion unnoticeable and non-slippery. Love them! - Maddie

During Fashion Week, the early mornings and late nights are not conducive to keeping up a good skincare routine. As a result, face wipes are my absolute best friend. I kept them out all week on my bathroom sink so I could easily grab one before collapsing into bed. What’s great about the Swisspers Face Wipes is that the scent makes your skin feel instantly fresh. I also love that these wipes cleanse, tone and moisturise my skin without drying it out. - Yelena
Fashion Week is probably up there with attending balls and weddings in regards to times when you’d really rather not have pimples. Unfortunately, it’s not really something you can control. But… at least it’s a problem you can now get rid of quickly. Offering a super speedy solution to acne, the Clearasil Ultra Rapid Pimple Cream will have you sporting visibly clearer within just four hours. Phew! - Yelena
One of the downsides of running around to various backstages at Fashion Week is that you can get a little sweaty - not ideal for your pores when you’re also wearing a full face of make-up. I managed to keep my pores to a minimum during the week by using the Bioré Pore Strips on the Tuesday night. The strips helped pull out the oil and dirt build-up from around my nose, meaning that I was back on track by the time I hit the Haryono Setiadi backstage on Wednesday morning. - Yelena

Having naturally curly hair that I try to tame via a blow-dryer, John Frieda’s Frizz Ease has long been a regular go-to for controlling fly-aways and ensuring that my bob looks sleek and shiny - as opposed to wild and woolly. The new packaging is a sexy revamp for a trusty old favourite, and this is always one of those products that I keep in my desk drawer for a quick spruce” before I dash out the door. - Nat

Let me start by saying that the The Face of Australia High Definition Brow Kit is just amazing. I am a victim of thick, unruly eyebrows, so it was quite fitting that this should land on my desk. It’s cute and compact, meaning it fits perfectly in your purse or bag allowing you to shape, groom and colour eyebrows on the go. The duo brow powder allows you to choose the right shade to suit your brows and/or your make-up. - Sarah
There are numerous items that we women carry in our handbags and sometimes it’s hard to find a 2-in-1 product that’s both functional and useful. I used the Australis Lip and Cheek Duo in Flamingo skies on my lips and cheeks. It gave me a natural, rosy finish on my cheeks and left my lips looking vibrant. I used the bright shade on my lips and teamed this with the soft pink shade on my cheeks. The smooth finish is a result of the evening primrose and macadamia seed oils with aloe and white tea extract. Perfect to wear during the day and even better at night. - Sarah
The t-zone is a common problem area for a lot of us, and that’s where the Matte Out Mattifying Face Base is an essential step before applying make-up. It’s a lightweight formula and absorbs excess oil so you can feel confident that you’ve got a good base to work with before applying foundation. The stick applicator is super easy to use for those who like convenience and means you don’t have any leftover residue on your hands. - Sarah

The Mavala Nail Polish Remover Pads are so much more convenient than traditional nail polish and I find that they also do a better job. They are the perfect size to pop into your bag to use whenever you need, and I also keep them in my top drawer at work incase I need a quick clean up of my nails before a meeting. With a baby on the way, for safety I would also prefer to have these in the house over a large bottle of liquid nail polish remover. - Bree
Chi Chi has the best range of nail polish colours, from conservative nudes all the way through to metallic sparkles. The range has something for every occasion, and they are always ahead of the game when it comes to bringing out the latest colour. Long-lasting and super easy to apply, Chi Chi are my go-to nail polish brand. - Bree
