Celebrity fragrance news

The celebrity fragrance trend continues to gain momentum, with a number of international stars unveiling new scents this week.

Coinciding with her half-time Super Bowl performance today, has unveiled her newest fragrance, Pulse NYC. According to perfumer Carlos Vinals, This fragrance was inspired by Beyoncé and the vibrant city that she has made her home.” Featuring notes of raspberry, pomegranate and pear, as well as floral notes of peony and jasmine, the fragrance dries down with patchouli, cashmere musk and red velvet cupcake. It’s available in Australia this month.

In Paris, Kim Kardashian unveiled her sixth fragrance, Pure Honey, which is being rolled out around the world from September. This one to me represents pure femininity; it’s really warm and inviting,” the reality TV star explained. Containing raw wild honeycomb and rose notes, Pure Honey has been created with fragrance licensee Lighthouse Beauty Marketing.

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has also begun spruiking his own scents – a masterbrand rather than a single fragrance, according to WWD. With a fragrance for men and one for women, Levine hopes to cater towards both potential fan bases. If you’re thinking with your business hat on, you have to think that a lot of the people who are initially checking this out are probably women,” the singer says. But at the same time, I wanted to create something that I would feel comfortable wearing.”

The launches come at the same time that Kate Spade is self-launching its new fragrance, keeping creative control within the company rather than employing a third-party licensee. Live Colorfully is an amazing exclamation point to our 20th anniversary,” says president and creative director of Kate Spade New York, Deborah Lloyd.
