Jessica Gomes reveals her beach body secrets

As a Sports Illustrated cover star, you would expect Jessica Gomes to know a thing or two about working out. The Australian is the owner of a taut and toned body that is the result of her dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

Talking diet and fitness to Harper’s Bazaar, Gomes admits that while she doesn’t work out every day, consistently focusing on her wellbeing is essential. “I think it’s important to lead a healthy, happy life, and for me, being fit and strong helps that. It makes me feel good, it makes me feel like I can take on anything, and it gives me energy,” she says.

The green smoothie fan says her workout routine is a varied one, explaining: “I’ve been doing XtendBarre recently, which is a mix of ballet, pilates and dance and focuses on the core. It’s really fun - you do it to music and you sweat the whole time! I also love boxing and one-on-one training; I try to mix it up.”

Gomes’ commitment to her health is a product of her career, which requires her to “be swimsuit-ready at any time of year”. She told Body + Soul that wellbeing encompasses more than just a taut stomach, saying: “I believe that it’s more than just looking good in a bikini - I now know that I look my best on the outside when I’m healthy on the inside – my skin is better, my hair is healthier and I’m in the right mindset.”
