Sephora announces opening date

The wait is finally over – an official opening date for Sephora’s first New Zealand store has been announced.

Today Sephora revealed the global beauty giant’s first local bricks-and-mortar location will open on Saturday 20 July, via billboards across Auckland.

Sephora fans are invited to arrive at the Queen Street store from 7am on the day for a pre-opening party, where the first 500 people will receive a free Zoeva Eyeshadow Palette worth $49, alongside Sephora samples being handed out until doors open at 9am.

Opening day entertainment will include Auckland DJs Soraya and Andy Heart Throb, while coffee, crepes and hot chocolates in sustainable Sephora thermoses will be served to those in line.

Currently the Sephora double-decked Beauty Bus is travelling around the country for customers to touch, swatch and trial products. The bus opened its doors in Christchurch over the weekend, and will spend the next two weeks in Wellington and Hamilton, before arriving in Auckland for two days before the opening event.

“I can’t wait to meet the crowds at the Sephora Queen Street Auckland opening,” said Sephora’s National Artistry Lead Alphie Sadsad. “I can’t imagine a better way to spend a Saturday morning than grabbing a few beauty-die-hard friends and heading down to Queen Street to join the Sephora street party. A DJ, a double-decker beauty bus, big stages and samples. I might even treat the first in line to a special flash makeover!” said Sadsad.

The new store will open at 152 Queen Street, Auckland.
