Mariam Seddiq x Shark Beauty backstage report – May 15th, 2025
The look:
"For Mariam’s show, we wanted the hair to echo the quiet drama of the collection - monochrome foundations with a bold pop, much like the styles we’ve created," shared Shark Beauty hair director, Madison Voloshin.
"From the front, it’s minimal and refined, but as the models turn, there’s an unexpected sculptural moment - a modern take on classic elegance."
"Using the Shark Beauty SpeedStyle with the concentrator attachment, we’ve created a super sleek base, then set it in place with diffuser-dried structure that won’t budge," said Voloshin.
Key products:
Shark Beauty SpeedStyle RapidGloss Finisher & High-Velocity Dryer.
Get the look:
- Prep hair with sea salt spray and dry in using the Shark Beauty SpeedStyle with the concentrator attachment.
- Once hair is dry, take a rectangular section from the recession points back to the crown, section out two panels from above the ear and clip away.
- Starting at the nape, use hairspray section by section to create a sleek pony that ties off at the highest point, nearest to the crown. Secure with hairspray and use the Shark SpeedStyle with the diffuser attachment to dry. Finish must be sleek and polished.
- Tease the ponytail and brush into a soft but secure bun with a net and pins.
- Repeat hairspray and diffuse with the Shark SpeedStyle.
- Tease the top panel section by section while using concentrator attachment on the Shark SpeedStyle to shape volume into the top, add in sides to create a consistent smooth shape, but not too much product as we want to have an element of softness whilst still being strong and secure.
- Once the top section is pulled back, secure hat elastic to the ponytail. Tuck pony underneath using U pins and dry hairspray in for security.
