Welcome to The Desk Edit – a monthly series where the BEAUTYDIRECTORY team shares the standout products we genuinely rate.
From skincare saviours and makeup must-haves to signature fragrances and hair heroes, every recommendation is grounded in real use and honest opinion.
Below, we break down why these new launches have earned a place in our routines – and why they might deserve a spot in yours, too.
Aeris Style Pro Hair Dryer ($130 at Aeris Style) – Aja Walter, BEAUTYDIRECTORY's Digital Editor

The Aeris Style Pro Hair Dryer feels less like a tool and more like an upgrade to my entire hair care routine. After only a couple of weeks of using it, the difference is hard to ignore – my hair is smoother with noticeably less frizz, and left with that glossy, just-left-the-salon finish that usually takes far more effort. The plasma-ion technology works quietly in the background, refining the texture without overworking hair. Paired with intelligent heat control, it delivers consistent results without the stress of heat damage – which, if you style often like me, makes all the difference. I also have to mention the incredibly chic design. Lightweight, well-balanced, and easy to manoeuvre, it turns even those super rushed mornings into something more effortless and controlled. I highly recommend giving this affordable, yet high performing, hair dryer a go. It’s at-home styling that doesn’t feel like a compromise – polished, efficient, and quietly luxurious.
Aqium Ultra Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser ($3.99 from Chemist Warehouse) – Issy Webster, Head of Implementation

Despite COVID being a long-lost memory, it’s surprising how coming out the other side has taught me the importance of hygiene, and how dependent I have become on hand sanitiser. The Aqium Ultra Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser is the perfect travel size to pop in your bag to use throughout the day. The convenience is being able to have clean hands without having to rely on washing your hands at the basin with water and soap. While this product effectively kills 99.99% of germs, it’s also super moisturising which is important, as hand sanitiser can dry out your hands. This has become my travel companion and an essential item in my handbag to keep my hands clean.
Hawaiian Tropic® After Sun Body Butter ($12.99 from Chemist Warehouse) – Samantha Azar, Campaign Executive

I have been using the Hawaiian Tropic® After Sun Body Butter over summer, and it is now a staple in my routine! The texture is rich and creamy without feeling greasy – which I absolutely adore. It melts in beautifully, leaving my skin deeply hydrated, soft and smooth; which is perfect for my dry skin after the beach or going into the colder months. I love the Hawaiian Tropic signature tropical scent too, it smells so luxe. The nourishing ingredients of cocoa and shea butter add a subtle glow to the skin and softness that feels long-lasting. Overall, it’s a really luxe-feeling body butter at an affordable price, and one I am definitely repurchasing.
SIMKA Peptide Plumping Tinted Lip Therapy SPF15 ($40 from SIMKA) – Aja Walter, BEAUTYDIRECTORY's Digital Editor

SIMKA has just released its newest offering - meet the Peptide Plumping Tinted Lip Therapy SPF15. Powered by patented lip plumping technology shown to double hyaluronic acid synthesis (+101%), the balm helps lips retain moisture and improve softness. Unlike traditional lip plumpers that rely on irritation to force temporary swelling, SIMKA has developed a formulation that works with the lips natural architecture for sustainable and long-lasting results. The shade Blush is my dream your-lips-but-better pink – buildable and incredibly flattering for everyday wear. It glides on like a balm but leaves a soft, glossy finish that makes my lips look instantly healthier. What really impressed me is how hydrating it feels – packed with nourishing ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E, it plumps lips without any stinging sensation yet keeps my lips smooth and hydrated. The new era for lip plumping is here!

Natio Glow Beauty Boost Cleansing Balm ($29.99 from Myer) – Issy Webster, Head of Implementation

The older I get, the more I try to simplify my skincare routine. I love nothing more than coming home after work and applying the Natio Glow Beauty Boost Cleansing Balm to gently remove my makeup from the day. I love the ease of a cleansing balm – I will rub it into my skin just before I jump into the shower so I can wash it directly off under the water. It’s simple and effective at dissolving makeup, dirt, and sunscreen, all while nurturing your skin and balancing your skin barrier. Made from antioxidants such as Kakadu plum, goji berry and pomegranate, these ingredients are beneficial for brightening and keep your skin looking radiant.
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant ($54 from Sephora) – Samantha Azar, Campaign Executive

I will never miss this step in my routine! I have been using the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant for over a year now – and I don't think I will ever stop using it. As a very oily skin girl (sometimes acne-prone), this is hands down the best exfoliant. The lightweight formula is great for daily use and gives your skin an immediate glass finish. The salicylic acid paired with the 2% BHA instantly calms and clears irritated skin; while also minimising pores and texture. Unlike harsh scrubs, this gentle toner mimics the natural exfoliation process and increases cell turnover. Making your skin look brighter and allows other skincare products to absorb better. If you're new to exfoliants or want to try something gentler – I highly recommend!
