AFW 2026 backstage report: Bianca Spender

Bianca Spender x Weleda backstage report – May 12th, 2026

Weleda Australia is proud to return to Australian Fashion Week 2026 as the official makeup partner for Bianca Spender, supporting a runway show that celebrates freedom through refinement, and a deeply considered approach to natural beauty.

The look:

Continuing a valued collaboration with leading Makeup Artist, Victoria Baron, Weleda provided skincare support backstage for the Resort 27 collection – a show inspired by the quiet resilience of the Hellebore and the sculptural tension between structure and release.

Weleda’s plant-powered skincare helped create skin-first beauty looks that echoed the collection’s ethos: alive, unforced, and quietly assured.

The skin:

"For Bianca Spender this season, we were drawn to the way light travels across the body and through and along the garments. The makeup follows this same idea, celebrating the way light catches healthy skin in an effortless and organic motion," said Makeup Artist, Victoria Baron.

"Skin is first cleansed and prepared with the Weleda Skin Food Cleansing Balm, removing impurities while leaving the complexion soft and comforted."

"Hydration and luminosity are layered into the skin using Skin Food Super Serum and Skin Food Original, while lips are nourished with the Skin Food Lip Balm."

"The Weleda Calendula All Purpose Balm is pressed onto the high points of the face to create a lived-in sheen, with the Skin Food Ultra-Light Dry Oil continuing that healthy glow across select areas of the skin and body."

"The overall impression is effortless. Skin that breathes, that feels raw in the best way, while still holding refinement."

"A subtle point of interest appears on select models, with a painterly, organic touch of gold across the eyes. It catches the light softly, adding dimension without disrupting the purity of the skin."

"Nothing is fixed or overly defined. It is about responding to each face and allowing the makeup to sit naturally within it," shared Baron.
