Ok I have a confession to make. Ever since Delta cut her hair, I have been loving – no, coveting – her new ‘do. Personal opinions of Delta aside, you have to admit the new look is stylish, sexy and very, very sophisticated. And it’s made me want to turn the scissors on my own lengthy locks.
Almost 12 months ago, I wrote about bdBLOG: Lengthy locks that long hair is boring”. At the time, I declared I wasn’t going to chop my hair anytime soon, even though I may have agreed with the award-winning hairdresser’s sentiments.
Recently, we’ve seen the likes of Delta, along with international celebs such as Julianne Hough and Jennifer Lawrence, cut off the lengths of their hair in favour of a shorter style. It’s enough to make me wonder whether Mr Scandizzo was right in his prediction – are we coming to the end of long, long hair?
It’s taken me some time to get to this point, but in today’s fast-paced world (and on the eve of an overseas trip and the unlikelihood that I’m going to make it into another hairdresser for a while), I think I’m ready to take the plunge. I’m not talking a full-on crop (like I’m sure Scandizzo would like to see), but a shorter style that’s easy to wash-and-wear, you know?
Feedback, references, and advice from others that have undergone the chop, are all very welcome in the comments below. Stay tuned for a before-and-after pic - unless you talk me out of it!
