The SunSense UV Photobus returns

You know it’s coming into summertime when the SunSense UV Photobus hits the road. Now in its second year, the UV Photobus is again helping Australians become more wary of the effect sun damage is having on their skin.

Kicking off on October 9, the UV Photobus is a mobile skin analysis centre run by a team of dedicated skin consultants who use UV camera technology to assess each person’s skin for underlying skin damage. The free service will allow people across the country see firsthand the effect their time in the sun is having on their skin.

This year saw SunSense ambassador Carrie Bickmore undergo the UV imaging camera for the first time. To say that I was shocked when I saw my UV analysis is an understatement. My score was 42 and well below the average. Growing up in the sun, using limited sun protection, and now seeing the cumulative damage as a result, it has certainly hit home that I need to be more careful with not only myself but my young son,” Bickmore admits.

Dr Kerryn Greive PhD, head of R&D at , says, The practical element of this program – the UV imaging camera – really brings to light facts that are known but all too often ignored.”

The UV Photobus Tour and its team of SunSense skin consultants will travel to 21 metro and regional locations across QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA from October 9 until December 5. For more information, visit www.sunsense.com.au.
