A milestone birthday for Carmex

It may have a history dating back to a family kitchen hot plate in the 1930s, but iconic beauty brand Carmex continues to be a must-have beauty staple 75 years on.

As the beauty brand celebrates its milestone birthday, the company has witnessed many changes since Carmex founder Alfred Woelbing began knocking door to door on local pharmacies in 1937.

After a relocation in 1976, the 80s saw the beginning of their international distribution – including Australia and modern packaging changes with the launch of the Carmex Squeeze Tube applicator.

With sunburn becoming an issue in the 1990s, Carmex developed the ClickStick with SPF15 applicator. Moving to plastic packaging in 1996, last year the iconic jar was re-invented due to their bid to go green.
