Karen Murrell takes a stand against bad beauty habits

Karen Murrell is launching a campaign to encourage women to ‘break up’ with bad beauty habits this New Year, including replacing any toxic lipsticks.

Studies estimate that modern women apply an average of 150 chemicals to their body every morning through the products they use.

The “Kiss Your Bad Habits Goodbye” campaign aims to upheave our beauty routines so we aren’t ingesting or absorbing as many toxic ingredients.

Using a more natural lipstick is one of the easiest ways to stop chemicals entering the body, as the average woman is said to consume upwards of one kilo of lipstick in a life time.

The campaign, which launches February 4, features three strong, influential women who are opting for more healthy beauty habits. They include multi-millionaire mindset coach Sunniva Holt (@sunnivaholt), yogi and blogger Jane Lowe (@theyogaconnection), and Rebecca Van Leeuwen, the woman behind @soulsistercircle.

From February, customers who purchase a Karen Murrell natural lipstick will receive a free Karen Murrell Moisture Stick – purchased at participating Unichem, Life Pharmacy and Green Cross Health stockists as well as online.

Karen Murrell lipsticks are made with avocado oil, evening primrose oil, candelilla, carnauba wax, cinnamon and sweet orange to treat your lips naturally. The brand uses natural mica and iron oxide pigments, with the lipsticks being free from parabens, coal tar, carmine, mineral oils and triclosan.

The new campaign is in partnership with Unichem, Life Pharmacy, Priceline and Green Cross Health.
