What is your top tip for using make-up brushes?
You don’t need hundreds of brushes to get started. With just a few key brushes, you can be blending like a pro.

What are some of the common mistakes you see people making in regards to make-up brushes?
The most common mistake I see with make-up brushes is leaving them to dry standing up as the water can go into the handles. Instead lie them flat to dry.

We've recently seen the rise of beauty blenders. Do you think these replace the need for make-up brushes?
Nothing will ever replace make-up brushes. Beauty blenders are just another tool to add to our kits.

Why should consumers choose to use a brush over a blender?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to beauty blenders versus a foundation brush. Most people find a combination of both gives a great result.

Why should people apply make-up using a brush rather than their fingers?
Using a brush to apply foundation gives a much more professional finish.

What sets the Manicare brushes apart from its competitors?
The Manicare next-generation of brushes was curated to take all the guesswork out of choosing the right brush. The high quality mixed hair bristles make blending effortless, while the crimped ferrules mean less hair loss so these brushes will last the distance. Plus, [the range] has new lightweight modern handles.

What should a consumer look for in quality when brush shopping?
When I'm shopping for make-up brushes, I need a brush that blends easily with good quality hair and crimped ferrules to give the brush longevity.

What brush is an absolute necessity for any consumers' beauty kit?
The blending eye brush is an absolute must for every make-up bag followed closely by the eye smudge brush.

Do you prefer a stippling, fluffy, flat top or traditional foundation brush?
When applying foundation, I prefer a traditional foundation brush followed by a stippling brush if I’m using a quick-to-dry matte foundation.

What’s your favourite way to contour?
Adding a little more definition to the cheekbones is a must for almost every make-up look - simply suck in your cheeks then contour the hollow and blend with Manicare’s Contouring Brush. The shape of the brush makes contouring super easy.

What’s an untraditional way to use a make-up brush?
Spraying a little hairspray on a bronzer and dusting over your hair is a great way to get rid of flyaways without losing volume to your ponytail.

If you could have only one make-up brush in your kit, what brush would it be?
I'd have to go with the long-haired eye blending brush.
