Anna Heinrich: On juggling law and the public eye

The Bachelor may be in its fourth season in Australia, but original winner Anna Heinrich continues to be very much the darling of the public’s eye. With 240K Instagram followers to her name, a gracious hard-working ethos, and her LoveAlwaysAnna blog going strong – it’s no wonder a multitude of brands are vying to work with her.

But one that Heinrich is especially thrilled to work with is  3D White, with the company recently announcing the TV personality would be continuing on in her role as ambassador. On the back of this news, BEAUTYDIRECTORY caught up with Heinrich to chat to her about beauty regimens, juggling legal and media life, and the realities of blogging and gramming.

Do you feel your style and beauty routine have changed since being in the spotlight?
I think they have evolved. It can be a very confronting thing seeing your face and body in pictures you didn’t know were being taken – so after the cringe moment (and there have been many!) it really let me see what did and didn’t work on me. I’ve always loved fashion, so that hasn’t changed. If anything, I now have access to brands and designers that I didn’t before – for a girl that loves playing dress-up, that’s an amazing thing.

What do you do to get camera-ready?
I make sure I get lots of sleep the night before and feel well-rested and fresh-faced. My beauty regimen starts the minute I get up – I always brush my teeth with Oral-B 3D White Diamond Strong toothpaste. It contains fluoride which actually strengthens your enamel – so great for white teeth and fresh breath all day. If I know I’m going on camera, I will apply the Oral-B 3D White Advanced Seal Whitestrips the night before to help brighten up my smile. I also swear by coconut oil and use it every day to keep my skin glowing and healthy.

Your bright white smile is a bit of a trademark. How do you manage to maintain it?
There’s no better compliment than being told you have a great smile – and it’s so important as it’s generally the first thing people notice about you. I definitely believe a beautiful smile is a healthy smile. I’ve been using the full range of Oral-B 3D White products for over a year now and am loving how bright and white my smile has become! I also make sure I visit my dentist every six to 12 months for a check-up.

How are you currently juggling your legal life with being a media personality?
It’s all about prioritising my time and keeping a balanced life. I do it all because I love it all. I try and keep both as separate as possible, but it’s not always easy, especially when someone recognises you in court.

Is it sometimes hard to switch between "legal Anna" and "media Anna"?
I try and keep both as separate as possible. It’s not always easy, but when I’m at work – whether that be in the courtroom, or at a photo shoot – that’s where my focus is at.

Is your workplace quite understanding of having to travel and do media gigs?
I have an extremely understanding boss who has been there with me from the beginning. He understands my position and is just happy to have me around. I can’t thank him enough – thanks Chris!

The LoveAlwaysAnna blog looks great! How much time do you dedicate to blogging?
I make sure that I spend enough time to get the content up without it taking over my life. I’ve been on this journey with so many people, so the blog is a space where we can all come together and talk about beauty and fashion, and my mum’s food! For me, blogging is a way to really express who I am.

Is it important for you to regularly update your blog?
Yes! If I see something exciting and amazing, I want to share that! I struggled at the beginning with constantly updating my blog, but I have a better understating of it now and definitely do it more regularly, which is a must.

Who takes images for it?
Tim or my mum. I have trained her up well! Otherwise, I will get a professional photographer to take some of the snaps.

How much time do you dedicate to Instagram each day?
It varies from day to day, depending on what I have on. I always want to be authentic too, so it’s got to be something I think is “share worthy”.

Do you take notice of comments?
Yes, and I do my best to reply to as many questions as possible. It’s 98 per cent positive, and the rest I delete.
