For the last 26 years, Environ Skincare has been at the forefront of vitamin A innovation, creating and pioneering products that make a real difference. With the launch of the two new Youth EssentiA products, Environ has taken vitamin A innovation – and youthfulness – to a whole new level. We caught up with Environ’s Founder and Scientific Director Dr Des Fernandes to get the lowdown on the latest two products, Youth EssentiA® Vita-Antioxidant Defence Crème Plus and Youth EssentiA® Vita-Peptide Intensive Serum 4 Plus.
Please tell us a little about the two new extensions to the Youth EssentiA® range.
I believe that the Youth EssentiA Defence Crème Plus and Intensive Serum 4 Plus, are the best solution to future-proofing skin. We are constantly researching and going one step further and these two products really do take youthfulness of the skin to a whole new level. They are designed for use on those skins already acclimatised to high levels of vitamin A as they contain the highest levels of vitamin A that is permissible in skincare.
You’ve added Juvinity™ to the product, can you please tell us about this?
Juvinity™ provides support to the stem cell and stem cell DNA by supporting the telomere. As you might know, telemores are what protect our DNA from deteriorating. Environ has been working on this for many years and has conducted extensive ongoing research and we see Juvinity as an investment into the future of your skin. I say this because when you are working with telomeres you are looking at a gradual change over a longer period than if you were only using vitamin A – the results of which you can see quite quickly. With telemores we want to make sure the genes continue acting correctly for longer, so in other words, you will notice as the years go on, that your skin is not ageing like it would have.
Environ developed the Vitamin A step up system with both the Skin EssentiA and the Youth EssentiA ranges. What makes Youth EssentiA so superior ?
With Youth EssentiA we have included all of the most active ingredients that we know about right now. In addition we have included extremely rich quantities of vitamin C, peptides, along with an array of antioxidants and a cocktail of DNA protective molecules. I believe that no other skincare company uses vitamin A to the level that Environ does.
Environ has always been at the forefront of advanced anti-ageing treatments with the DF machine, cosmetic and medical needling. What direction do you see the future of anti-ageing ingredients and skincare taking?
When it comes to enhanced product penetration through the skin we have probably reached the maximum that is possible. I believe that we still have a lot of potential for improving the results of skin needling. In terms of ingredients I am expecting better and better peptides and then of course, the Holy Grail is to provide treatments that are noticeably effective against pigmented blemishes. Our research work is ongoing and very promising and I am very confident in the range of products we will release in the future.
