Beauty innovations to come out of CES 2019

Last week, we reported that La Roche-Posay unveiled its wearable skin sensor at the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas, followed closely by Neutrogena with its brand new personalised sheet mask.

Since then, other brands have come out with beauty innovations that are expected to make consumers’ lives a whole lot easier.

To keep everyone up to date with everything happening in the world of beauty tech, here’s a round up of all the standout showcases.

Wella Professionals
CareOS and Coty put forward the Wella Professionals augmented reality smart mirror, which uses facial recognition technology to retrieve archived looks. Providing a revolutionary salon-like hair colour experience, it also features 360 degree video elements that allow users to view their hair from all angles. Additionally, clients and stylists can keep in touch via a connected app between visits.

YouCam MakeUp
PerfectCrop, the developer of the YouCam MakeUp app, has introduced a “Beauty 3.0” vision that enables the personalisation of platforms in real time. The app update means people could soon track their skin concerns, get recommended foundation shades for skin tone, or even participate in complex live makeup trials.

Procter & Gamble
For its first participation in the CES, cosmetic giant Procter & Gamble revealed a number of new connected devices from a selection of its brands, such as Olay’s artificial intelligence Skin Advisor platform.

Compoz
Aritris unveiled Compoz, a composer of personalised home fragrances. The new device is able to charge up to five interchangeable scented capsules and it is controlled via touch screen.

BeautyMix
Already introduced in Paris at ViaTech, BeautyMix was born from the DIY trend and offers a small mixer and accessories to create natural cosmetics in the comfort of the home.

Beautylitic
Beautylitic is an app that was created by Litica Labs, and it enables retailers to analyse their personal care portfolio. Put simply, it scientifically analyses the ingredients in all beauty and hygiene products for more effective product management and to help meet new consumer expectations.
